The Rotary Club of Engadine has supported THE ROTARY WORLDWIDE SHELTER BOX PROGRAM almost since its  inception. It has done this by donating funds when permitted, to provide shelter Boxes for  many of the world’s disasters. For more information about shelter boxes, the Shelter Box organisations and Engadine Rotary's early involvement visit the  following websites  https://engadinerotary.org.au/sitepage/shelter-boxes  and https://www.shelterboxaustralia.org.au/

Our involvement forms part of Rotary's dedication to causes that build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts.

ShelterBox became Rotary’s Project Partner in Disaster Relief in 2012. Since then, the partnership has helped transform ShelterBox into an internationally recognized disaster relief charity, supporting families with emergency shelter after disaster.

Over the past years, the number of world disasters has increased and with it the need to provide more emergency shelters and sustenance for impacted and dislocated families and young children. This is one of Rotary's little known humanitarian projects to which Engadine Rotary is a an ardent supporter and a justly proud one .
For this continued support ShelterBox Australia has recognised our efforts by awarding us a Bronze Champion award as mentioned in the following letter.

Some readers will probably say that we should be looking after our own  country first and in fact Engadine Rotary has also done that through donations to  Drought and Fire appeals, adopting a State rural township to help through the tough times, but the Country always recovers. This is not so in many areas of the world where disasters such as cyclones, devastate a country and it never recovers.
