Over the past 18 Months Engadine Rotary has intermittently conducted our meetings and business via Zoom.
So, it followed with the current virus restrictions that our 2021-2022 President Joy Pogson was inducted via Zoom.
Normally the induction of the new president is a formal event however the Members of Engadine Rotary, warmly welcomed Joy and endorsed her election.
Joy had previously been a member of the Rotary Club of Carlingford. She joined Engadine Rotary in 2018, after moving to Heathcote.
She joined us with high Rotary credentials, being a past President and a Paul Harris Fellow including three Sapphire awards.
Also, She had served as District Secretary of District 9685, our adjoining Sydney District.
Upon joining Engadine, She thereafter served on the Club Executive as Club Secretary.
Readers may recall that Rotary was once considered a "Blokey " , (Men only)  organisation; not anymore.
Joy is our second female President and her election follows the world trend of improving the previous long-term gender in-balance in Rotary. Also our current Club Secretary is  Wendy Davis.
Readers are advised that nearly 40% of Clubs within our District ( which covers Southern Sydney, Illawarra and the Macarthur Areas) have female presidents this Rotary year.
In 2019, Rotary issued a Diversity , Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Statement which can be found at
Moreover the 2022-23 President of Rotary International , will be Jennifer E. Jones. Jennifer is a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roselands, Ontario, Canada. Her short biography can be found at
Finally ,within our District some of the top executive positions (President Elect , President Nominee and District Secretary )are occupied by very competent women.
Ladies , you don't need to be a high flier, you just need to be a member dedicated to the advancement of humanity.

If you need to be persuaded , Why not email and talk to Joy  at  and if you need more convincing visit -
