Engadine Rotary assists World Disaster Recovery through ShelterBox.

As part of our International Service obligations and assistance to people undergoing trauma in
those countries currently experiencing natural disasters,Engadine Rotary has recently donated
$1000 to the ShelterBox Australia Fund  to be used to assist recovery.
ShelterBox Australia relies totally on donations to fund its operations and with many disasters
now occurring through the world, it urgently needs community support to continue its work.
So please donate this very worthy cause. To see more about ShelterBox, visit their website at

A letter of appreciation from ShelterBox to our recent donation follows .

Dear Rotary President
ShelterBox and those suffering around the world from natural disasters thank you for your generous gift of $1,000.00. Your gift has been deposited into the 2017-2018 ShelterBox Fund.
Please note that as of 1st July 2017 we will no longer be offering box sponsorship and tracking. There are many reasons for this, not least the administrative cost of tracking but also the fact that the way we respond to disasters has evolved over time so that we no longer supply just ShelterBoxes. We are far more responsive to the needs of the beneficiary, tailoring our aid to suit those needs. We will continue to deploy boxes when needed but now have the ability to supply a range of other aid, including tents to suit different conditions; ShelterKits to repair damaged homes or build emergency shelters; and a range of essential items like solar lights and water filters. We will continue to update you on how and where your money is being spent in our monthly eNewsletter, on our website and on social media. I hope we can count on your continued support.
Because of the way ShelterBox works - the need to be ready to respond instantly to any disaster, at anytime, anywhere in the world - we are unable to accept time- or location-specific donations. Funds received before a disaster will be drawn upon to respond, and funds stimulated by that disaster will be used to ensure we're ready for the next one.
ShelterBox Australia relies totally on donations and we truely value your support. If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact us, either by return email or to me, as below.
Please find your tax-deductible receipt below.
Yours sincerely
Mike Greenslade
